Unicorns - If you go down to the woods today

I posted some pictures on my personal profile of the girls that I took down our local woods. It was just for fun but they did turn out pretty well and most were taking with my phone.

Part of Isobel's wishlist for the Summer included a sisters photoshoot in matching dresses......... with a unicorn !!!!! So what could be better than getting them matching unicorn dresses for the pictures. Isobel insisted we needed a unicorn.

So much to the amusement of the people down Garryhinch Woods that day. I headed off with Isobel, Ellie in the buggy and a 3ft unicorn in tow with a bag of blankets and props. Am I mad, quiet possibly yes. Was it worth it, most definitely. Isobel's face was priceless and Ellie seems to love being dressed up so win win all round. Me as a parent I got some beautiful pictures of my girls and gave them memories and giggles to last a lifetime. Pictures are so important to have I always think.

We had been down the woods the week before on a scavenger hunt for moss and items for our fairy garden and I had spotted the perfect place for pictures. It was a little bit off the beaten track which meant we had little distraction but it also had lovely lighting. I love how the pictures turned out and I think the best way to ensure this is to take lots, and I mean lots so that way you have plenty to choose from. Also make sure the kids are well fed and bring snacks, otherwise it will be like something from the snickers advert !!! hee hee

On the way home then we (almost) past a field of beautiful round bales of hay. I knew it was a photo opportunity not to be missed. This was a lot of fun with Isobel and a lot of giggles. She was initially a bit nervous but once she was on the bale she was a real pro.

I love this picture, it is so Isobel she is always so happy and full of laughter.

Reconnecting

I know I am "back in business" as they say but I did take some time out. Sometimes you need to switch off to reconnect and this Summer I spent as much time as possible with my two girls having a lot of fun and making memories.

Isobel's long awaited and much wished for sister Ellie made her arrival in March and has turned our world upside down for the better.  She is our rainbow baby after much heart ache so she has brought tremendous joy to our lives already.
